Bant deck & Friday night magic report ***old***

MTG LOG (I forgot to show the one basilisk collar, oops) Last minute we decided to sideboard out the argentum armor package. The deck worked really well. There wasn't an opponent I wasn't able to stabilize against. Still, I went 2 - 2. Didn't expect anything else. The deck isn't made for fast starts, which makes me think venge might not even be the best approach. It became immediately apparent when I got shut down by frost titans first game. Second game he won by poaching my non-basic lands with 2 tectonic edges, punishing my 3 color gamble. The deck worked worse than I thought against this blue black deck, having any additional ramp would have gotten me this first match. Second, I won a match that went to time against white allies, their combo/aggro approach was sort of hard to deal with, but I was able to go ultimate with elspeth after recovering from 6 life. Second game I had all 3 plainswalkers out, along with 3 vengevine and sun titan. Working on all engines, I was able to take the game with Garruk. Third match I also won against esper blue white black control. After drawing 3 with Jace Beleren I returned him to the battle field with sun titan to destroy my opponents Jace the Mind Sculptor. I thought a match up like this would be good. His counter spells didn't really help him, all of my cards just seem to stick around. His elixir of immortality didn't help him because this time I was able to journey his frost titan. Match 4 was against the same control player mentioned in earlier reports. I would have had the match, if elspeth didn't leave tokens on the field... he was playing Sarkhan the Mad and had a 5/5 dragon token. I had to use elspeth's ultimate to get rid of Sarkhan and his mimic vat, but was trampled by animation lands and one dragon token. Second game, fauna shaman was killed, making me think about the spell "turn aside"

@manashark you're probably right, venser could work with sun and frost titan. I'll run both. Need venser again >< You've got a good point, frost titan has sorta become popular for a reason. Its good.
