Stargate Horus Costume Animatronic Head

In December 2008 I decided to create an animatronic Horus guard costume from Stargate. I'd always wanted to work create something like this, but never knew where to start.
I soon discovered someone else had exactly the same idea, and had provided step-by-step instructions on Instructables. (see URL below)

I've adapted the design a bit, used a joystick instead of the flex sensors and written custom firmware for the controller.

This is a recent video of the animatronic head and its inner workings, unfortunately it has been in storage for a while and is a little bit beaten up.
