I skate downtown OKC like this every single day. I'm not reckless. I'm very aware of traffic patterns and I make eye contact with as many vehicle threats as possible. Most importantly, riding in the street protects pedestrian ankles, and nothing is going to give longboarding a worse name than clipping peds and breaking their legs. When you see a cop, smile and wave, and remind him that you aren't some punk ready to thrash a rail, just a friendly person looking for some pavement. LFL

haha this is new york city. craziest place in the world. bikers have been doing the same for a lot longer than us. cops can only stop you if you stop. and with years of experience burning intersections becomes a formula, it looks reckless, but is precise. very little is left to chance. it cant be or you will die.

pedestrian safety and safety in general comes first. those pedestrians are our friends mothers and brothers.... the most important thing in the scene here is making a good name for ourselves and our community.... we in this video have been surfing NYC for years! we know crosswalks, redlights, pedestrian patterns, vehicle behavior and laws of the city better than anyone!
we may seem reckless to you.... but your not here, so respectfully may i say chill....
THIS IS WHAT WE DO! AND DO WELL

sometimes, yes, some die hard short boarders cant get off the short deck but do concede its a terrible way to commute! my favorite skate is riding my longboard to the skate park with my short on my back

we're actually pretty cool and respectful of pedestrians. people get upset about skateboard laws, but they exist because too many skaters are rude. obviously we can't speak for every skater in our NYC family, but most of us try to skate peacefully and NOT disrupt society with our hobby. be cool, be free, create harmony when possible - BUSTIN
