Why Won't McCain Sign the GI Bill?

Faced with unprecedented filibusters, the only way to ensure Senate passage of the GI Bill is to get 60 co-sponsors. So far, John McCain has refused. The same McCain who insists he supports our troops. The same McCain who is voting lockstep with the Bush administration (who have also resisted this bill). We need to get John McCain to lead -- to sign now and signal to other Republican leaders that we should be strongly behind our vets.

VAkraut I served 86-91 1st Gulf War. You are WAY off base with your figures you are probably a recruiter sitting at your desk bullshittn. Yes you do receive money but it is always late and only covers the cost of a community college-a cheap one! During my time in service I was paid less than a waitress the least they can do is give people who have served and lived through it and even paid into the GI BILL a sufficient amount. Everything has gone up asshole cost of tuition, books, supplies!

I agree with the guy you're replying to: If your wife wanted to be paid well, then she should have gotten a degree in a field that is more valued. @m015094 i wouldnt say its a worthless degree. and my point was that the college degree job was paying less than the job without the degree. it doesnt matter if its a ba in animal science or business. most places arent paying what the worker is worth these days. most jobs that pay are locked down with no future retirees in the next 10 years. computer science or information tech are in demand and pay very good.

I think you'd better go back to "collage" and learn how to spell correctly.  Just for your info, most vets contributed money towards the GI Bill (Ch. 30) while they were in, so they could use this benefit later, so STFU and do some research.

Sorry guys but I have to say, have you noticed our debt problem? We don't have the cash to fund the war machine nor your collage tuition. I'm guessing that you were paid while in the military and you most likely had free room and board as well. You should have been saving that cash for when you got out. Now you'll have to get a job and save your money for collage just like the rest of us.
