I bet even with the old 4 Banger Hurricane it would have made the same trail.

Thumbs up. That's the way to build it, and the way to drive it. You just can't beat a good basic flattie and good driving technique.

Very nice clean run over some big rocks. Did you offset the wheels out a little? I'm worried about tire rub on my stock 47 2a. I still have all the original type stuff on that old jeep. It's not the original parts, but the original type parts. For example - the L134 motor is from a Willys wagon of that same era, and all the sheet metal is repro, etc. The old steering could be seriously upgraded. A nice manual saginaw unit would be the way to go IMHO.

my dad has a 47 with a 215 alluminum v8 cherry bombs and no lift but the tranny is the stock t-90 we jus had it rebuilt been sittin for a few years but bout 2 get runnin again post sum vids soon

i have one its a 54 though ,,same tires and lift..i take it every where the big guys go ..

It's a '46 CJ2A with a Dauntless V-6 from a '68 Commando and a T-18 from and FSJ with a Ford input shaft. The rear end is stock except for welded spiders and the front is stock except for a Lockright, Spicer style shafts and Selectro hubs. It's got a manual Saginaw steering box tucked in next to the winch. 2" leafs and tiny little 31" Swampers. Other than the Swampers and the Lockright it's pretty much how someone would have built a Jeep in the early '70s.
