Yes,The United States' Economy Is In a Recession

A report out today shows the nation's job market is in a dire condition,
and quite possibly could be getting worse.

With 2 straight months of job losses,(63,000 last month and 22,000 in january)
it can no longer be denied by most economists that this country is in for a recession that may spread worldwide.

February reported the biggest job cuts in five years, and the first back to back job loss months in five years as well.

With big reductions in construction,retail and manufacturing combined with higher energy and food prices, the outlook is grim indeed as the economy of the United States, as well as other countries around the globe, seems to be in a free fall.

Will the just announced bank stimulus plan,coupled with the rebate checks, pull us out of the hole?

Whoever posted this needs to look up the definition of a recession. Two or more consecutive quarters of negative growth in the economy. We haven't even seen one month of negative growth yet. Go out and buy a clue.

No one thinks about that, and I know two elderly woman that died because they couldn't afford medication anymore. McCain even plans on taxing insurance through the work place. We have been warning people here in Florida, that if they vote to receive that little return of money (less than $100) on their homes, schools lose 9 million. They claim that increase tax 1 penny will make back 3 million, but what about the other 6? Why do prisons get so much more attention? Free health care in priso too.

I just moved from a condo community because the owner is in foreclosure, and it happened like a flood for a lot of owners. As far as credit cards, some people actually moved out there and lived on credit cards! We lived there 2 years, and saw people move in and out, so maybe they are trying to buy their way, but they max out, and always have to pay it back. This nation encourages loans and credit cards though, can't pay rent now, get a loan. Its crazy. Good point Joyriser.
