U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa P. Jackson spoke at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus Nov. 15, introduced by William Cronon, Frederick Jackson Turner and Vilas Research Professor of history, geography and environmental studies. Jackson discussed recent challenges to environmental laws and her agency's efforts to answer President Obama's call for federal agencies to work with American businesses and create jobs. Jackson's visit was hosted by UW-Madison's Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, the Wisconsin Energy Institute, the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center and the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
