  • I've recently re-viewed Chicago Hope on Netflix -- because I was raising babies in the 1990s and wouldn't have noticed if UFOs invaded earth - I'm telling you guys this series is among the VERY best television of all time along with HILL STREET BLUES and very few others. Tim Kring one of the big writers was also the AMAZING writer for HEROES I can't believe how good this stuff is.

  • @LadyShadowDragon Yes,, i must agree with you on that point. Most of my favourite actors are character actors as well. I like a movie that doens't have big stars. Makes the roles more real.

I've seem to noticed that, personally, my fave actors are rarely "A List" actors, but actors like Mandy Patinkin

  • @xvoy2002

Mandy is short for his real name Mandel, named after he grandfather.

  • I always wondered why his name was "Mandy"... If that was his real name he should have changed it. If it was a stage name,, he made a big mistake. He could have been an 'a' list actor if he changed his name to something like John Wayne.

  • if mandy lives to be 290 years old , he will still be the guy who says 'helly, my name is inigo montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!!' it just doesnt get any better than that!

  • In my game room, I have autographs from celebrities from everything to Larry David to Jet Li and I have a section on one wall where I have autographs from all the major stars of Chicago Hope. People sometimes ask me about them and I tell them it was my favorite dramatic TV show of all time. It's the best!

  • Actually sorry, I'll take that back. Chicago Hope is the second best, and it is, but the best is "St. Elsewhere" - I just checked. And I say of not a fan lol, though I'm not. In general. It also has the best music too, and brought Denzel Washington to our screens.

  • Actually having never been a fan of hospital drama series, Chicago Hope is by far the best, still to this day (Sep 2008). Best actors, best writing, best direction. Having seeing it recently I can affirm that view point.
