This was the band PRIDE we played in with backing singer Ms Adu (SADE FAME). Of course the lads from Hull Paul Denman , Stuart Mathewman and Paul Cooke went onto to form one of the biggest bands in the 80's SADE with the singer Ms Adu taking her name SADE. Pride...We basically sacked the rest of the band and then set up SADE after Pride failed to get a record deal. The video was shot in Heaven in London and Stuart is looking as camp as he can on the Sax. Its a long story but our manager was gay and this was his favorite club so it had to be shot there.....

  • Thanks Paul !! We love You and all the band with the magic Helen! Sergio, from Rimini, ITALY

  • I've still got this on video.I was a regular at Heaven during the eighties.I'm certain there was a small clip (maybe less than 30 seconds) of Pride performing another song on TV,but I never found out the name of the song despite thinking it sounded really good. One of the musical mysteries of my life !

  • @PaulCookeMusic - Other greetings from Italy...thx for posting tracks like these, which could otherwise be lost..

  • Damn! That other chick ain't get no face time...We see who was going to be the "star". Wow, I'm beginning to see "Miss Thang" in a different light. I, of course, was a young girl (7 or 8) around this time, but I remember when Sade broke onto the scene in the U.S.

These are very interesting videos/"backstories". THANK YOU Paul!

  • Sorry to bother you, but is there anyway I might have the .mp3 of this? It's truly fantastic.
