In spite of the warm climate, new technological advancements now enable outdoor ice rinks to be built in Southern California. Sandra Hughes straps on her skates for a test run.
"new technology has put hundreds of temporary ice rinks in the most unlikely places, like downtown los angeles, and at a busy intersection in santa monica." And now, Jobing arena in PHOENIX ARIZONA!?!
Scott and Zoom Zoom! This is so cool! Congrats on brining your community closer together and giving families a chance to have fun in the sun winter style! Ur all amazing! Yahoo!
Actually I skate regularly, although I have never coined myself "an ice skater". I have played hockey all of my life - still play and I coach, my Son plays - my whole family skates. I have seen my fair share of concussions with children falling backwards on the ice.
You are obviously not an ice skater. Kids past a certain age or talent range do not need helmets or elbow pads unless they are playing a game of hockey.
well, in many parts of the world (including much of the eastern seaboard and the midwest), kids learn how to skate as soon as they learn to walk. these aren't toddlers in this video, they are 8+ by my estimation.
i'll bet you can count the NHLers from california on one hand. because californians suck at skating, josh.
