'Second Thoughts about Fluoride,' Reports Scientific American

"Some recent studies suggest that over-consumption of fluoride can raise the risks of disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland," reports Scientific American editors (January 2008). 'Effective' is the general word in this. Fluoride was effective in the gulags of the former Soviet Union and was effective in the camps in Germany. Fluoride was added to the water to make people more docile and less likely to resist any actions towards them, even as they were lead to their eventual slaughter.

@jgizzy, thanks for the info. I *definitely* have to invest in a high quality water filter. I know it doesn't make a huge difference, since I'll still be bathing in poisoned water and eating veggies/food raised on poison, but at least it would be something.

@WastedPo Fluorosilicic acid that is primarily used in water fluoridation *does* include such contaminants you listed including arsenic and cadmium as well. The EPA doesn't have a standard on the levels because this fluoride acid is not considered (by them) to be a 'drug'. So, to answer your question, yes you are also getting these contaminants (lead and mercury) with the fluoride.
