Hello I am 8 week in post op lap band and have loss total so far 55lbs included pre op and I have already been getting comments from family and coworkers I'm only 253lbs at this time but get alot of comment from my husband also since he loves thick girls also. I've been with him 11 yrs and understand it is not that he wants band it is that he is not use to me losing weight especially at the rate I'm going. Do you have any other suggestion for me.

yeah... for awhile there i got Doña Huesos! lol! in our culture skinny is not considered attractive at all... its a battle... besides all the menudo, tamales, enchiladas, etc that go with it!

Hi Melanie. This is Melanie (lb4lbheavywt). My lap band surgery is scheduled for 1/16/12. The one person I did not tell was my husband. He has a problem with people getting wt loss surgery. He thinks it is the easy way out. I will never tell him because I know he won't be supportive. I really don't care because I have U Tube. LOL :,)

It sounds like your family really doesn't understand your desire to be healthy. My mom at age 79 goes to the gym 4 days a week! I can always count on her to let me know if I am slacking with my exercise. Sounds like your family members are very Jealous. It must be difficult for you. Stay strong Girl
