I was working on collecting stories in the City of Chicago in the year 2000 for a massive archiving project when I randomly interviewed Chris Gardner in a taxi. 6 years later his life story was made into the movie The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Will Smith.

I watched a documentary from the 80s where they done an experiement for a news program and it proved that cab drivers did ignore black people compared to whites

Chris Gardner doesn't realize that many taxi cab drivers who don't pick up black people....they used to pick up black people!! Hell, in the fucking movie about Chris Gardner's life, Will Smith jumps out of a cab and takes off without paying cause he's broke!! Same thing in restaurants. No servers want to wait on the ghetto tables, not even the black servers. It's not racism, it's the same market forces which made Chris Gardner rich. But it's still a shame that individuals take such punishment.
