Final Fantasy X Bosses: NSGRONI - Evrae

NSGRONI stands for No Sphere Grid Rikku Only No Items. I am not completing the entire game with these restrictions, just fighting the bosses after defeating them in NSGRONO.

Things get a bit more interesting here, as I'll have to deal with Evrae's Stone Gaze counter. Every physical attack and overdrive adds 2 to the counter. Once it reaches 6, Evrae will replace a physical attack with Stone Gaze, which is bad. Once Evrae reaches her Haste phase, the Stone Gaze counter gets turned off. I need to do 21335 damage to get Evrae into the haste Phase, and another 10665 damage to finish her off. In addition, I need to kill Evrae before she hits me with Poison Breath once in Haste.


The most damaging overdrive I have (not counting Trio of 9999 and Sunburst, both of which require the Underdog's Secrets I get from compiling my Al Bhed Primers) is Chaos Grenade which does about 7500 damage to Evrae. Unless I get really lucky with the bonuses, it'd take 5 Chaos Grenades to kill her. That's not going to cut it. Luckily, Chaos Grenade can go critical.

I worry that it may look like just about every Bottomswell challenge fight ever. NSG Rikku just isn't built to survive Flare.

Hey, thanks to your vid I began to play a nsgrono/nsgroni playtrough.

I've just beaten Evrae in both nsgrono/nsgroni. I then looked your vid : we have the same strategies. I'm looking forward to kick nautus' ass!

Anyways, THANKS for this amazing challenge (even if you're not the one who invented it). I really have a lot of fun doing it. That's by far the best challenge I've ever played.

Just a question : Do you know how many time it took you to beat the game.

I'm at 58H just after Evrae.
