@Beetlehair what's wrong with Green Bottle? that's a different vibe, but it's still awesome! Can your band play like that? And who put those soundfx in there? pretty innovative !!! They can go from sludge to up beat freak-beat and you have to divide them like that? tsk tsk... ;)
This psychadelic recording came out one year before The Rolling Stones 2000 Light Years From Home. It was WAY ahead of the times. This song was written by The Sparrow/Steppenwolf's drummers brother, Dennis Edmonton... AKA "Mars Bonfire" the author of Born to Be Wild.
I caught John Kay at the Beacon Arms (Broken Arms) in Ottawa when he was rebuilding Steppenwolf. It was a great show, especially great as we were only a couple tables from the stage.
Pre-Steppenwolf? Sounds more like Syd-era Pink Floyd. Wish they'd have done a few more singles like this instead of things like Green Bottle Lover, etc. Both sides of this single are excellent psych.

Steppenwolf came after this...pretty much the same band. Dennis Edmonton (Mars Bonfire) wrote this stuff...it was great.
