  • Count I took your advice,I picked up and Old Edwards and a nice Old Sterling Hall made in 1951.This Erlich I found smokes better then My High End Charatans.I hope you make some more Vids,I have learned so much from you and Tim.Oh I have the Cleanest Pipes in Western NY.Cheers Count.

  • I tried to send you Happy New Year note and I was blocked as I am not a friend. Please add Pipepheaks so I can write you. I am planning new vids on the Pipe Collection. All the Best - The Count

  • I hate to say it, but the guy on the right in the white hat needs some help. He looks like a total goof smoking a pipe...Perhaps lose the hat, grow a mustache or beard will help. That or lose the ponce expression you have...

  • Don't be fooled by Jr's act - he is as sharp as a barracuda and is in politics in this state, on the Board of Trustees of a major university, had a 4.0 average, graduated Summa Cum Laud and now is working with a state Senator in state politics. He has more important contacts among the elite than a plumbing fixture. All the Best The Count

  • ive always believed that the acts of hands is more natural and more thoughtful in handling the briar which allow the user to maintain the beauty of the pipe with out sabotaging it,,thanks for the tips

  • Hi Eric, I agree. I believe in a conservative approach to maintenance and refurbishing. Sometimes when you go too far, you can't get back home.

    Best regards, The Count

  • A mistake I've made in the past is being too eager to try waxes, creams, wipes, etc to freshen up my own pipes.

Fortunately, I managed to learn that a little elbow grease and a soft cotton cloth are enough to make a dull pipe perfectly presentable.

Not the high gloss glassy look when it was new, and I'm talking about maintaining my own pipes not serious refurbs.

Stuff like Halycon has its place, but that nice shine wouldn't last through one smoke's worth of handling.

  • Love your 1099 Bulldog! Y'know you are correct. Bab-O used to do wonders on old gun stocks - so did Murphy's Oil Soap. Naturally, Cobra Venom (read spit) is the ultimate, but, in these politically correct days one does hate to reference body fluids. I am almost embarrassed to note that there was a situation at Pipephreak Headquarters last night, Pipephreak, Jr. had drunk up all of the available components for Bug Juice, along with the Bug Juice itself - at 1:00am this was a bad scene. T'Count
