(500) DAYS OF SUMMER — ReThink Review

A breakout hit at the Sundance Film Festival, 500 DAYS OF SUMMER is careful to tell you that it is NOT a love story, which really isn't true. This movie is definitely about love, but it's just as much about breaking up and coming to terms with the aftermath. I think what they meant to say is that 500 DAYS OF SUMMER is not a conventional romantic comedy, since romantic comedies are a genre where the two people you expect to get together always do, where true love conquers all in the most predictable ways, where people realize their big fight was all over a big misunderstanding and they go running through the streets and into each others arms and everything is perfect as the credits roll. You know. Just like in real life. Right? Or is that just me?

Why do people hate Summer? I'm sure most of you have done this to someone, and plus its an amazing movie because its realtable, it shows your not the only one alone. Its not some dumb fairy tale where the guy always gets the girl. Thats why I love this movie

If you ever meet a summer or a he-summer in your life, please, just please...

Don't hesitate in dumping the shit outta of their existance away from your life. He or she don't even have the right to have a heart or to ever pronunce the word "love" or it's derivatives.
