  • As far as the lag is concerned, that'd be my YouTube app...apologies...

  • either within the Door County Visitors Bureau, or within the hearts of those who travel2Door County on a regular basis. Besides, any1who comes2Door County in search of a gaudy tourist trap will realize their mistake pretty much as soon as they cross into the county, and next time they're planning a vacation, they won't come back. That's my opinion&that's one of the many beautiful things about Door County, Wi.

  • I'm right there with you regarding the fact that the festival of blossoms date shouldn't've been pushed forward BECAUSE of "Groovin Sisterhood." Still, I'm just not sure that the sinister motives which the user below seems to be ascribing to the visitors bureau and the festival of blossoms date change are really there at all

  • #1tourist destination in the Midwest' or some such thing by some travel magazine, and not because we want to trample on its beauty. I understand why the visitors bureau would advertise the festival of blossoms, as well as why they'd attempt an idea such as "Groovin Sisterhood Weekend

  • ...there instead of bounding off to some tourist destination. Door County attracts a different type of person; a different type of traveller. And so what if the visitors bureau advertises it. As I said, I do take the point that was made below, and I think it's something to always keep in mind, but that's no reason to lump all of us together as usurpers of the beauty and the natural way of life of the peninsula. We go to Door County because we love it, not because it was marked 'number one touri

  • ...And as much as I DO understand what the person below my first comment is trying to say, I don't think that most people-whether they be employees of the Door County Visitors Bureau, or vacationers, I don't think that they take Door County for granted, and I truly do not think that 'most' of us are trying to make it into a garish Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or Branson type of 'tourist trap.' I think that most people, like myself, truly love the land in Door County. That's why we come to visit up

  • Absolutely beautiful! As much as I do understand this person's point, Door County IS built on tourism. I spend as much time as possible up there order to get some healing&some major relief from a painful condition that I happen to suffer from, so I consider myself as much of a Door County native as I do a Chicago area native. My family has been staying in DC for many, many years and we are very considerate to&respectful of the nature&beauty that makes Door County such an enchanted place.

  • We don't have a Festival of Blossoms anymore, remember? Sister Bay decided to move it to June, and from late April thru May you guys are more concerned with the early bird cheapos here for events and groups like the utterly shameless "Groovin' Sisterhood"... please.. you guys obviously spend NO time actually investing your SELVES in our county, please stop pitching it to your soulless confederates elsewhere, and quit your jobs, and leave, so that we may begin the reclamation of natural culture.
