Ants perform entomopily with pollen spreading honey bees gathering nectar and busy pollinating blossoms on the same wild fireweed flowers in a Glover Vermont meadow. A prime example of entomophily. This method of pollination by insects, often occurs on plants that have developed colored petals and a strong scent to attract insects such as, bees, wasps and occasionally ants, beetles, moths and butterflies, and flies.

  • @Skalar300 Thank you. Hello to you in Germany. Dropped by your channel and watched some of your videos.

  • I have never seen this behaviour before, interesting well done

    Regards Richard

  • Although bees are top pollinators on earth. Ants, butterflies, bats, and even the wind pollinate too.. Entomophily is one of the most important words on earth. There is a honey bee crisis worldwide called Colony Collapse Disorder. Basically 50% or more of the worlds honeybees have vanished. without bees we are faced with pollinating the plants ourselves.. Like the pear growers of Sichuan China for example. Where will chemical spewing corporations lead the earth? I think I know...
