**NORTHBOUND INFO:
CP 8798, 8549, 8638 Northbound on the main line of Essa at mile 59 of the CP MacTier sub. He was waiting south of this siding for about 20 minutes for this southbound to come into the siding, as he obviously couldnt fit with a WHOPPING 161 CARS!!!!!

**SOUTHBOUND INFO:
CP 9123, 9148 Southbound on the rickety old siding track at Essa, mile 59 of the CP MacTier sub carrying 106 mixed freight and auto rack cars. This train had a trainee conductor. He would go onto the next siding, Ypres, about 7 miles down the track, to meet 5990. (which I have video of)

**GENERAL INFO:
Since the siding in Craighurst is out of service for upgrades (busiest siding on the MacTier sub), the next available siding is Essa (this location) ... it had an abnormal amount of activity on it this morning! 3 trains in a matter of 4 hours had to take this siding today! What is even more abnormal is how many trains CP was running this morning! From 7AM-9:30AM when i had to go to work, there were 8 trains on the go within the 120 mile route, with 1 more waiting to get onto the mainline! Talk about busy morning for rail activity! Wish I didnt have to work!!!!

On my scanner, every 10 minutes (sometimes less) a new train was calling into the RTC for new clearances, poor guy must've had a headache! LOL

  • Nice catch. Typical CP meet .. takes FOREVER. LOL Maybe these new high-speed turnouts with speed up the meets.

  • @JayJr2007 yeah hopefully. I meant by "very long train" how long the Northbound was! 161 cars! HOLY MOLEY!

  • @GEES44DC yeah CN is usually a lot larger I find than CP

  • As long as CP is still running ABS and hand throw switches on their mainlines ... you will never see a sped up meet. The fact that there are multiple crossings in this siding doesn't help things either.

  • @rolls283 I wouldn't say VERY long. It's average ... for CN anyway.
