  • The first birthday is the most important in a Chinese's life (historical high infant mortality one of the reasons.) Due to the remote arrangement of a resourceful and imaginative mom who had not even met her in person, Lily Mei's "Dew Shui (completion of first year)" was celebrated in style, dressed like a princess of a Royal Household and looking radiant among her carers and little friends. When she grows up, Lily Mei will see those footage and know how much her mom loves her.

  • Thank you for your beautiful comments. Your kind thougths have touched my heart. ~ Pamela

  • Happy 2nd Birthday, Lily Mei! Your first B day in the US of A! When you had your first birthday, your lovely parents were already right there with you in spirit and in love. Separation by oceans and continents could not stop them wanting to celebrate their daughter's important successful completion of her first year. You were so brave and patient, waiting for mommy and daddy to come to take you home. I wish you happiness, good health, wisdom, and courage in all your life in your new country.

  • Pamela, I was very touched by your example of maternal grace. Lily Mei is in the best of hands and will blossom like a flower as her very classical Chinese name "Fou Rong" implies. In a recent documentary on the States by Stephen Fry (a British writer,) he says that Seattle/State of Washington has the most educated population in the US of A. RESPECT!! My best wishes to your family.

  • XuZhous is the home of the most beautiful girls in all China and your LiLy Mei certainly lives up to the billing. Her nursery in Seattle looks very tastefully done and PINK!! It takes somebody awesome to take on a child with special needs. You are very brave and we want you to know that our prayers and love will be with you during the forthcoming surgeries and challenges. God Bless you!

  • She is absolutely gorgeous. You are very blessed. Did she have the surgery to repair her little heart yet? God still heals. 1 Peter 2:24 and Isa 53:4-5. God bless you.

  • Beautiful... That image at 6:35 is stunning! Though the wait is long and agonizing and the trip filled with anxiousness, when we first hold them in our arms we know they were worth the wait. And we know that fate truly exists. And so too that the red thread real.

  • She is as cute as a button! Love the pic of her in the white onsie in her crib. My daughter is also Lily. It seems to be very popular these days. Congrats!!!!
