Here is a video I shot of a passing train with the Android powered Motorola DROID for Verizon. Video is recorded at 720x480 pixels at 25fps. The quality of video from the DROID is very good in general, which is in contrast to the 5mp still photos it shoots. There was no processing done on this video prior to it being uploaded to YouTube. Download the RAW video file here: http://is.gd/4KxgA

  • is it just the lighting....or are all the videos from this phone going to distort the color....

the very top of the train cars have blue steaks...??...even the raw vid has it too.....

    :(

  • That's not uncommon in digital cameras in high-contrast situations. Sometimes called purple fringing. You can read a bit more about it on Wikipedia.

  • Is there going to be another review of this? or just the unboxing. Thanks.

  • Another 15 minutes worth of video to be uploaded tomorrow.

  • IMO, the N97 is a pretty poorly done phone. Annoying to use on so many levels. I had really expected to like it, too.

  • The quality gets crappier when uploaded on Youtube :/

  • ...but can i make a call ?

  • Fukin amazing for a phone. Most phone videos like like really fast slideshows on youtube lol

  • @mobileburn yea i dont think thats the camera its the sun shining on that paint type or something around that. someone told me why it does that sometimes but it was so complicated i just ignored it lol.

  • I am not impressed. The video recording is the main reason I'm looking at this device and from what I can tell, the quality isn't living up to the hype.

  • @microzoom 100% False

  • fail, this youtube video option only allows us to see this at 480p so we are NOT really seeing true 720P

    something to consider

  • the video camera makes a chirping sound at the beginning of video capture

  • pretty good, but i wouldn't call it DVD quality
