Elizabeth and Victoria are my favorite but i don't think this movie potrayed Elizabeth at her best, i think the modern one The golden age version that is -was better.

I think the Crusades is perhaps the greatest example of christian/catholic persecution.

Hmmn not so sure i would use that as an ex .because it makes islam look innocent -which wouldn't be true ,Muhammed went on a crusade for Mecca remember? no i think the Inquisition ,the reign of bloody Mary and Bartholomew massacre were some of the worst catholic persecutions.Again no offense meant to anyone ,it's just history!!

The Christians set the standard for the butchery of the Crusades. The first siege of Jerusalem the crusaders in the name of god and with the blessings of the pope hacked to death close to 50000 muslim and jews.

Ahem,say "catholic so called Christians please" ! be specific,innocent people share the same name Christian. Yes while this Siege happened don't rule out that in his conquest of Mecca Muhammed did his own slaughtering especially to toward those who refused to convert to islam,i call the crusades a war because the muslims were capable of AND did fight back.Persecution is when a large amount of people (usually) are targeted wrongfully for abuse who are NOT so capable of fighting back.

The muslims say fight your enemy as he fights you. If he wipes out your children then he makes you wipe out his. And if you think that its just the catholics that do the persecution then your very naive. William of orange and Oliver Cromwell both fought rather brutal campaigns against catholics. The Lords army in africa is the same against muslims and other christian sects.

I hate this bullshit! The protestants and the Jews always try to make Catholics look horrible, when those two groups did more damage to the world than anyone. They also both control the US.

The movie is not anti-Catholic; it is anti-religious persecution - at the time, that's what the Catholics were doing.
