I used to watch Santa Barbara when it was on in the 80's. Even though Marj Dusay is a wonderful actress, I much preferred Shirley Anne Field in the role of Pamela Capwell Conrad. It was a shame when she left the show. I never knew why she did, and I always hoped she would come back.

I should look up on family history as well, but I have plenty of time seeing as I'm barely 17. My Nan is Sheila Houghton, my family all live in Essex just outside of London. My Nans (Sheilas) mum was Elsie Beddow, and her brothers were George and Ernie Beddow, I think Ernie Beddow is Shirleys father. I don't know who he got married to though. But your nan was Shirleys sister meaning you are my Nans, Cousins, Sisters Grandchild, is that correct? Isn't that complicated? lol !

Shirley and I are by no means close relatives, lol - I actually seldom see her, only a weddings, aniversaries and what have you...... Anyway, she is my Nans cousin (on my mums side of the family), lol, rather distant! still related though.

Met Shirley Anne today =) very nice person and very inspirational, she's a relative of mine =)
Despite the fact Marj Dusay played the part well, I always liked Shirley Anne's subtle British approach more.
