U.S. Rep. Bob Inglis (R-SC) said Monday that the 1,990 page Pelosi Health Care Bill must be opposed and stopped because it contains the public option, taxpayer funds for abortion, no tort reform and significantly adds to the federal deficit.

  • The Hyde Amendment will also not prevent this bill (HR 3962) from providing federal funding of abortion-on-demand. The Hyde Amendment applies only to funds appropriated through the annual Health and Human Services (HHS) appropriations bill. Therefore, the Hyde Amendment does not apply to the federal dollars used to establish and operate the abortion-funding component of the "public option". Likewise, it doe not apply to any abortion premium subsidy program that would be created by HR 3962.

  • 025 "(T)axpayer funds for abortion." This Obamacare bill (HR 3962) authorizes the Administration to pay for all abortions under the "public option". Enrollees would be required to pay into abortion coverage. Abortionists would send bills for abortions to the federal government, and they would receive payment checks from a federal (public funds) account. This is direct federal government funding of abortion.
