There are many reasons, yeah most of the crew hated him because he was full of himself, but Lazenby and Rigg had deeper issues for example, they agreed to have an actual romantic relationship so they would seem stronger on the screen, but Lazenby cheated on her and then they really fell out with each other. Which started their rivalry where she did things to annoy him and he did things to annoy her. So it really was Lazenby's ego which started it all but she did her fair share of things to him.
