Do you use multiple distortion boxes (together)? I have got similar nice cleans but it's hard for me to get a good distortion that I'm happy with. I may get a HM-2 or the like to add with my Big Muff Pi. I'm going for texture sounds like MBV and heavy stuff like Converge. hmmm.

In all honesty: I dropped the distortion pedals and got myself a decent all-tube head. Distortion pedals suck, besides fuzz's and certain OD's, but it's hard getting tight distortion like Converge with distortion pedals.
Converge and MBV are completely different sounds.

Try with Zoom Q3.

Nah, I've recently switched over to just recording stuff with a SM57. It works, like it should.

Fantastic textures, I like the post metal Idea..
There is hope with your ideas for a change in guitare sounds to evolve to new territorys..
Just check out for the sound from the camera because it doesnt do justice to your sound. Try placing the camera where it sounds good in the room.
You do that by placing your head and ears wherever it sounds best in the room and then place the camera there..

Thanks for the positive feedback! And trust me, I've tried a lot of places, some places make the cam clip quite fast, some places the sound travels to long to be accurate enough so it all varies. And of course, the more gain/dirt-like sounds are perceived even worse since those make the cam clip even faster. These are just little demonstrations, so the real recordings will be done with mikes. I can't be bothered to record some stuff with makes and paste it onto the video.
