Teresa is a 36-year-old wife and mother of two. She knows all too well the relationship between food and family and the pitfalls that come with gathering around the dinner table to commemorate practically any occasion. And as a registered nurse, she also knows all to well the serious health risks that surround her obesity and metabolic disease.
When Teresa decided she'd had enough, she did her homework. She found the LAP-BAND System, and she found Dr. Malley.

Gorgeous, if one's never had an eating disorder, you can't understand. "Dieting and exercise" sound SO easy and for some, it is....myself and obviously thousands of others it's not. Food is our drug of choice and like a drug addict, we can not mentally control what we put in our mouths. The surgery does this for us, thus causing our weight loss. Be thankful it's an issue you must not have had to face in life. :)

I don't understand why the gastric bypass/ lap band surgery is so popular. As I understand it, you lose 1-2 pounds a week. Isn't that the same with regular diet & exercise? Why get the surgery?
