Recorded at Gadsisar Lake, Jaisalmer, February 2008. Basu Khan is from the Manganiyar musician caste. He plays the Kamaycha instrument, which is something like a desert cello with droning snares. The song is 'Gorband', which is a symbolic song about marriage decoration of the bride as gorband literally means the decoration of the camel. For Rajasthani's, this symbolism has a double meaning in regards to marriage and their livestock.
