@donnquix0te- I absolutely honor and respect the sacrifices that every soldier makes but the bottom line is that the armed forces are the tools of policy. So to say that I can't comment on freedoms that are being fought for is ridiculous. All one has to do is be aware of what is going on politically and a fair judgement can be made if my 'freedoms' are being fought for. I was against the invasion of Iraq after 9/11 from the start and that position has been found to be verified.

@uttexlane- I happen to work with a lot of veterans so I understand on some level where your anger come from. I really hope that you are able to process and work through it. Sounds like a lot of PTSD going on there, bro! With all due respect, what you have done in Iraq didn't have a damn thing to do with my freedoms, which also may be a source for your incredible amount of anger. It is a long road to get back to a healthy mental state of mind. I wish you the best of luck on your journey...

But this IS supporting our troops - showing the true sacrifices they are making (for a senseless war albeit). Of course we could all just stick our heads in the sand and give ourselves a pat on the back for all the great things we have done. The pictures are real and if it makes us look like terrorists,... well... then just maybe.... there is a bit of truth to that.

@teach1love We all get carried along with our orders, and to be honest its impossible to know what a war has to do with your freedoms if you aren't fighting it.

@kathysvids As a soldier I will say that I don't want my death televised to make any sort of political point. I agree with that decision fully. Can you imagine if (heaven forbid) while your family is grieving over you, or (also heaven forbid) you are grieving over a loved one, a camera is showing the entire thing to the world, trying to instill the idea that the powers that be aren't doing their jobs? Frankly I would want my death to mean a little more than politics and news coverage.
