A preview of a 24-minute documentary in which University of Texas student Duane Graves chronicles his charismatic childhood chum, Rene Moreno, a San Antonio native with Down Syndrome. It is a playful, stirring, remarkably unique portrait documentary that garnered international press on the festival circuit after winning the National Media Award from the Down Syndrome Congress in 2002.

I LOOOOOOOVE people who have down syndrome. They are the liveliest, happiest, people in the world. I dont see how anyone can call this a disability at all :) We worry about stupid things like the ipad and money and these individuals dont need a thing to be happy. We can learn from them

@exit30sc So does my new 1 day old baby cousin apart from the face looking just a little bit diffrent from someone who doesn't have it what else does it actually do and is it true or not true that down syndrome people have a lower expectancy than average. Now this is in my family i obviously hope it's not true cos i have heard people say this before but i don't know if there right or not

My auntie had a baby last night and with no warning at all she found out it has down syndome so my baby cousin my own blood has this it probaly happend cos she's 41 and the older you are the risk is higher so if anyone writes any bad comments believe i will hunt you down and that is on my new cousins life

Down syndrome occurs when there is an extra copy of chromosome 21. This form of Down syndrome is called Trisomy 21. The extra chromosome causes problems with the way the body and brain develop.
