Wacky Waiters, by Imagine programmer Eugene Evans, playing on an unexpanded Commodore Vic 20 vintage home computer. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.
It's also here so that I can embed it, along with most of the games in my collection, on my website (see link above).

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • Damm this games reminds me off another, but I can not think of the name. It had more colour in it

  • There was an arcade game called Elevator Action, which I only have the vaguest memory of, but this may possibly be similar.

  • Good question.

By unexpanded I mean the RAM capacity.

The standard VIC 20 has just under 4k.

Many games require 8k or 16k, which is no biggie as RAM packs are common and cheap. I have a 16k one here.

Oddly, many 4k games won't run with expanded RAM fitted.

  • @ParkingtigersX Thanks :)

I usually play badly when recording videos (I'm actually okay when not commentating), so assumed that to be the case here too. It's kind of a feature of my vids.

I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

  • You want to use the keyboard

  • Good god, I had this game on my old viccy circa early 1980's...thanks for the share brought back some memories.

Yes it was annoying then and clearly annoying now.

  • Damn I had this game circa very early 1980's.. was frustrating then and as I can see still is ;D.....

  • 'I wouldn't want to eat at this restaurant... The waiters are either slow or dead.' Hilarious!

  • So, when you say "unexpanded" what does that mean?

And if you were to "expand it," theoretically would it (or the other games) run faster?
