The first version I heard of this song was this one by Juice Newton. I totally fell in love with the
song by the way Juice Newton sang it. I didn't think anyone could match it. Then Cyndi Lauper came out with her version. I love that one as well. I think both are great, and are sung with a lot of grit and guts !! Both versions are great !!

@dumbthings1970 HER NAME MAY ALSO BE JUDITH KAY COHEN

She doesn't hold a candle to Cyndi and Cyndi doesn't hold a candle to Gene. Sorry but that's how it goes.

I have to agree with JAVY624. Both Juice Newton and Cyndi Lauper have a great voice and version of this song !!

I love this song!! I love Juice and Cyndi Laupers version equally. Both very strong performance.

@MrEddyharris The album "Quiet Lies" that includes "Dancing" is available. You can get it on amazon.
Miss Newton I've been your fan since I was 12, this was one of my favorites back when I was in 8th grade! yes! in Mexico you had a big success with "It's a heartache" and ever since I've loved your voice, I had the chance to see you in San Diego in 1999 in an "Aids walk" concert, God Bless you Miss Newton!

This is a great song - and I really like the way Gene Pitney holds the last note in his version, too. Does anybody know where I can find her singing 'I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can?'
