Stockman gives a blistering analysis of the breakdown of profit/loss capitalism that began under Bush, and which Obama has only accelerated in keeping the Banksters and Government in bed with each other.

  • @jjcale1111 I find this very encouraging. Moyers is a far Left Liberal and stands for few things pro-liberty, but even the far Left agree with Libertarians about crony capitalism, bailouts, etc. This is an issue we can build a large coalition with the Left. It's the huge corrupt center of U.S. politics that is causing the problem.

  • David Stockman, 2012!!

  • I disagree. I think incompetence, not corporation campaign money, is the main problem. Obama has good intentions, he's just clueless. Hopefully as voters get more educated they'll demand better presidents. Also, so long as so much power is concentrated in Washington people will always find corrupt ways to obtain unfair influence. You have to dismantle Washington's power. Until then we get what we deserve.

  • Yes, Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Yes. Moyers would be considered Left-Liberal. But we all -- I'm left-libertarian -- understand the corrupt system. I mean, the economic and political system are sooo corrupt. I mean, what does bailing out banks, the big banks, have to do with capitalism. Which, I might, we don't have.

We don't live in a capitalist system.

  • 33:59 There is no conflict with free speech and banning corporations from giving money to politicians or political parties. Companies are not living persons, they are imaginary constructs.

Would you allow corporations to register to vote, or call them up for military service or jury duty, are corporations eligible to collect social security? Absolutely not. They are not people and they do not have any inalienable ”human” rights.

  • David Stockman is dead on about our corruptly integrated political banking system. Why is he not running for president? He's the only one I've heard that so thoroughly understands the problem that he makes it sound pretty simple when he explains it. Stockman for 2012 president.
