just think of the fly-by-nights that got national exposure from american idol....phyllis was born too soon...if she were alive today, she could show some of these oversinging chicks how a real vocal stylist does it.

Wow, when I think of Phyllis Hyman, I think of her awesome talent, her beauty and fabulous style...but ya just never know what a person is going through. On the outside she looked "perfect" but on the inside she must have been really struggling. We have to be kinder to one another. May God Bless her and keep her in perfect peace now.

Phyllis was truly a beautiful shining star. I am truly sorry that she couldn't see how beautiful that she was inside and out. That's why we have to pay attention to our loved ones when we know and see them struggle with bipolar disorders and other mental illness.
