When Apple CEO Steve Jobs made his "A Greener Apple" statement he acknowledged that Apple fans expected more from Apple. We wanted to send him a permanent memento and reminder of the great work many Apple fans had sent us via our Green my Apple website. But Steve is obviously a busy man - how to get a suitable memento to him in an appropriate manner?

Enter Goina, our resident Apple aficionado, with a great solution. Why not use Apple software (Aperture) to make a book of the best Green my Apple designs, comments and actions and use Apple's photo book feature to have Apple print and mail the Green my Apple book straight to Steve. A sweet solution indeed.

Sometime today an Apple photo book box should be arriving at Steve's office with a stylish thank you and a reminder that his first statement was just a start to a "Greener Apple" and there's a lot of folks hoping he stays the course towards being a green leader. As Goina put it, "I would love to see Steve's face opening the box with the Apple logo outside and the greenmyapple designs inside".

Check out Steve's book for yourself:

  • 1) Greenpeace does NOT accept donations from governments or corporations but relies on contributions from individual supporters.

  • 3) And it was a success since Apple changed part of his policy last May publishing a "Greener Apple". The e-waste campaign is not closed yet, of course, and we keep working on Apple too, but after this update we wanted to send all the user generated designs that Apple fan sent us directly to Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO. And we thought it would have been nice to send them using the Apple service and software. The message is the same: "We love your products, but we want you to go Green".

  • this really makes me want to use aperture. congratulations!

  • 4) Giona (the guy in the video with the strange italian accent)

P.s. Sorry to add all this comments, but in Youtube comments have to be shorter then 500 characters.

  • 2) I don't understand who could give money to GP for this campaign. Do you mean Apple? Greenpeace has run a campaign to change Apple environmental policy for 10 months, and Apple is not really happy about this. The campaign message is "I love my Apple, I just wish it came in Green". I think it's a really smart message that let Mac users be involved asking for a Green Apple.

  • I don't think needing money or funding is a good excuse for compromising your values...and image. There are other ways to get money beside selling out.

  • Hi :)

Sometimes, to be dedicated to the cause in better way we need money...:) :) :) :) :)

  • "Embarrassing"

    "Environmental"

And at least GREENPEACE is making environmental videos.

    Are you?

  • I hate that Greenpeace is into branding and consumerism now. Tho I love my Mac, I still wish that Greenpeace would remain pure and dedicated to the cause, not promote consumption.

  • Awesome! Lol Greenpeace!
