Based upon a semi-autobiographical novel by Auschwitz survivor Zofia Posmysz, Polish composer Mieczysław Weinberg's 1968 opera The Passenger receives its London stage premiere at ENO in David Pountney's shatteringly intense staging, conducted by Sir Richard Armstrong.
