The Saint Lucia blind welfare association is urging all Saint Lucians above the age of 40 and those with a family history of glaucoma to have their eyes tested. The association observed world glaucoma day for the first time this year, with free eyes screenings on Thursday.
The associations consultant ophthalmologist is warning locals against waiting until it is too late to seek treatment for the disease. The message is clear glaucoma can lead to blindness
