  • How much would one of these mills cost

  • @MarcBrownVideos you can buy end mills from Grainger or Fastenal in Canada, but im sure you can buy it from them too in the US

  • What motors and controllers are you using. Great looking job.

  • @danway60

He probably used CAM software to make the toolpaths.

  • Which spindle motor did you used in that video?

  • What spindle are you using?

  • @MarcBrownVideos Check out Mcmaster-Carr

  • Just a few pointers when programming the tool paths:

At 0:10 to cut the rad on the corner you used a circular int where you could of just had a rad. ie G01 Y to corner; G02 or G03 (RAD); G01 X to end.

At 0:22 it's circular int. again. You could of just done the full width of the cutter on the furthest wall, done the circle and come back up the wall closest to us. Just saves time.

And lastly, the DOC is tiny, try 5 times that or speed the feed up, looks like you've got a high RPM.

  • what do you use for generating the toolpath?

  • nice mill!

question, where are good places to order aluminum blocks from? i'm looking for marine grade aluminum block for my first project, but finding it more difficult than it should be using google to find supply houses.
