Test clips of some random footage shot with a Kowa 2X lens and telecined with the camcorder's aspect ratio set to "squeeze" to deliver an ultra-wide aspect ratio.

Kodak Stocks used: Vision 2 200T, Plus-X, Tri-X and Ektachrome 7240.

  • beautiful, what camera is this? how come this is so sharply defined, not usually so with super8.

  • @liftmanproductions Thanks...they were a combination of cameras. If I remember correctly, they were the Canon 814 Auto Zoom Electronic, the Nizo S560, and a Yashica Super Electro 800 (winter scenes).

  • I noticed that in this anamorphic film there is no vignetting but in your canon scoopic anamorphic test, there is. Is it because of the focal length? What lens did you have on this camera? Thanks for your time time and information!

  • @BlackRaven156 Yes, I imagine it was due to the focal length. I know next to nothing about lenses, focal lengths, etc. It's a vital part to all of this and I've dragged my feet as far as learning about them. With the Scoopic I just slapped the same Kowa 2X on to it and fired away.

  • Awesome post a video that is wider then CinemaScope 2.35:1

But The Aspect Ratio of the image is not Ultra 2.76:1

The True Aspect Ratio of the image is 3.45:1

Because The image is 3.35 wider then it is 1 tall

So in fact you have the widest image on youtube

So it would be cool to change the title to say Ultra 3.45:1

I am not putting you down I just want you to know that how wide the image is according to correct by aspect ratio measuring.

  • @dpImagine Will do...and I REALLY appreciate the info. Thanks for telling me!

  • I guess here is good reason to capture in HD

  • Hey guys , im new about anamorphic lense and i found difficult how to change the aspect ratio or squeeze the image , what im trying to say is i attach my anamorphic vertically to NEX5 and the image turns out too tall ( i dont know how to call it ) so i need to squeeze the image look normal and i want turns to wide cinema look . any software recommend ?

  • @cinescopefilms Hi, Cinerama is 3.00:1 (3:1) This Video is 3.45:1

So This video is wider then Cinerama.

Question, What is super 8 CINERAMA?

  • @dpImagine

Haha I disagree, there are far wider videos on youtube, but it's a good video though. You might want to crop it to the correct aspect ratio though, because the massive amount of boxing is just terrible to watch.

  • what about super 8 CINERAMA?

  • are you on facebook? can I add you if you are?
