The Soham Murders
On Sunday 4th August, 2002 in the quite town of Soham in Cambridgeshire, Best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman both 10 posed for a picture and then sat down to dinner only hours before being murdered by a man who they thought they could trust. Holly and Jessica went to buy candy after dinner and were never seen again. They were reported missing later that evening and a police search began later at midnight. The girls could not be contacted through Jessica's phone. Police searched Ian Huntley's house which he shared with his girlfriend Maxine Carr. He was the caretaker at St Andrew's Primary School which both girls attended and he used his position to lure them into his home. During the search Holly and Jessica's tops and shoes were found half burned in a garbage bin.

13 days missing on August 17th, 2002, the girls parents worst nightmare became reality when a Game Warden made a heart wrenching discovery as he stumbled upon the partially burned bodies of the two girls.
When the news broke of the girl's murders, the nation mourned leaving many in a state of shock and disbelief. What emerged in the coming days was even more shocking as the girls last moments were told by their killer.

Ian Huntley was arrested for the murder of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman and his girlfriend Maxine Carr was arrested for assisting an offender and conspiring to obstruct the course of justice. Maxine Carr was in Grimsby with her parents when Ian Huntley killed the two girls. Ian Huntley had already sexually assaulted an 11 year old girl called Hailey Giblin in 1998 and was accused of 4 accusations of underage sex but still he was allowed to work around children. Life should mean life for such barbarism but Maxine Carr has already been released under a new identity. Ian Huntley is locked away were he can hurt no other child. He has tried to take his own life on many occasions but it has come to nothing. Lets hope the next time he succeeds because nothing can compare to the loss that Soham felt when Holly and Jessica were murdered.

I remeber the day when they died, I cried for them with my mom back in London, I was young probably there age, and it was after a while when they discovered when they were actually murdred by the school trash man or sthn like that..
