@ImPoliticalOK Nottinghamshire police’s Assistant Chief Constable Paul Scarrott said more than 100 officers had to be deployed to deal with the “mindless, thuggish criminality” which had “no justification” but were simply copycat attacks. He added: “What provoked a night of serious disorder is not clear, but I can only assume that a mindless minority may have somehow, and perversely, felt motivated by the appalling events in London in the last few days.”

40 cars were vandalised in what police said was a “serious but sporadic” series of incidents Monday in the St Ann's area of Nottingham.
