MEMPHIS POLICE BEAT TRANSSEXUAL - CAUGHT ON TAPE.
The video, recorded February 12th, shows Duanna Johnson in the booking area at the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center after an arrest for prostitution.The tape clearly shows a Memphis police officer walk over to Johnson - a transsexual - and hit her in the face several times.

While I can't comment on whether the use of force was excessive, the suspect is known to be violent and combative. They had an altercation earlier. That would not justify excessive force at a later time, but it would be misleading to believe that this man was 100% innocent. He was antagonizing the officers. It doesn't justify what happened, but it helps to explain it.

BTW, it's not a "she." The subject was born male and still had a penis at the time of this video. It's a "he."

Oh, if anyone is wondering, I refer to this person as ’he’ as no matter what gender someone changes to, I shall always consider them to be their original gender. Besides, particularly Female-to-male, transsexuals tend to do it for sexist reason like ‘I don’t want to be feminine or wears skirts and dresses”, for female-to-male or “I was really feminine when I was a child” for male-to-female.
