@RogueBrit According to one of the stewards at Cosford, who is an expert on TSR2, she had a projected service life until 2030. It was designed in such a way as to be capable of being easily upgraded, all her avionics consisted of easily removable/replacable modules. Ironically, if the government had a set of balls & seen the project through, although expensive initially, TSR2 would have proved very cost effective in the long term. IE We would never have needed Tornado, and TSR2 was more capable!
@RogueBrit TSR2 was designed to remain in frontline RAF service until 2030. It was designed to be easily receive continual/regular avionics upgrades. It's electronics were modular ie easily removable/replacable boxes. TSR2 would have been an awesome strike aircraft, the Tornado still only has 7/10ths of it's capabilities, that really says something I think. We can 'thank' the Yanks for bringing about the downfall of what would have been NATO's most potent strike aircraft by a country mile.
@george385 no my friend f22 was 20yrs behind tsr2 until america decided it wanted money back from ww2 or shut down tsr2 as we america will not be able to sell our obsolete planes to Europe and Australia TSR" was a far advanced plane in front of anything in sky at time all history
@MegaRaf2009 Who's stupid the video maker, cause like you said this plane is great. I reckon if this was in service we wouldn't use the Tornado GR4 now or at least not the GR1 in the Gulf war.
@ronlovesutube Dunno what happened there - but thats not my comment. Perhaps YouTube would like to look into it because it looks like my ID has been associated with someone elses comment?
