@Sowldred I think it was this: select the object, hit alt+c and select convert to mesh. Not entirely sure though.

in my case is just a glowing pile of undefinable particle :/

@UltimateMusicMaker It's reversed, but you could probably do it using keyed. Also, reactor wouldn't work at all for this.

Very nice. I guess you converted the text to a mesh and set that as a particle emitter and then played the animation backwards?

Exactly. This was done with the old particle system within blender ( < 2.46) The new one is much better to archive such effects.
