@ZeekWolfe1 think of it this way..the heavenly realm is kingdom made up of God the Father, the Son, Holy Spirit, angels and saints..the goal of all of these beings is to bring the sinner to repentance through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ..Jesus Christs' goal is to bring you to the glory of the Father.."no one comes to the father but by me" so why not use the entire kingdom to aid in your salvation through Jesus Christ..they are willing to help the sinner achieve salvation why not embrace them
@BA8520 Keep in mind that I am a former believer. Jesus' words are quoted extensively in the gospels. The sermon on the mount in Matthew is quite profound. The story of the raising of Lazarus from the dead shows that Jesus had emotions ("Jesus wept!") similar to our own. But the idea of intercession is a later construct. Jesus does not say...in effect...that if a person gets a busy signal from heaven, then this snag can be bypassed by calling on Mary and the Saints.
@ZeekWolfe1 we do not pray to saints and Mary..we ask for their intercession on our behalf..this is shown in the scriptures at the wedding feast of Cana where Jesus performs his first miracle of turning water into wine..Mary comes up to Jesus and tells him they have no more wine..therefore it is by Marys intercession that Jesus performed his 1st miracle and began his ministry..Jesus is our intercessor between the father and man..Mary and the saints our the intercessors between man and Jesus.
You didn't answer my comment. If you can pray to Mary, and if she answers the prayer, then she is a god, too. Thus, we have the Trinity plus Mary, a total of 2 gods. If the saints also answer prayer then they also are gods by any definition of this noun. In some countries Mary is elevated to a position almost above Jesus, Mexico, for example. If Jesus saves souls, what need is there for his mom?
@ZeekWolfe1 Jesus said, 'by their fruits you shall know them.' The fruit of the Blessed Mother is Jesus. He commands us to honor our own fathers and mothers, do you think He would do less?
Let me see if I've got this straight. There is only one God...He is, He was, He is to come. He is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. But if you can pray to the Virgin Mary and she answers, she, then, is a god. Same thing for saints and, I guess, even angels. What tomfoolery!.
