@ReggiesReply Those red generals I believe caputured just a few more Krauts though maybe under several Russian Armies. Regarding Vietnam, is was fought in the wrong way. McNarmara is first one to blame and Johnson. We needed a patton or leMay or just let the generals have a free hand. The politicians lost the country as a political defeat, thanks Democrats. There was no military defeat, our troops fought well and never suffered a major defeat.

"Patton" is about the General most feared by the Germans, who gained more ground, killed more Nazis, captured more troops, equipment, and supplies than any other commander, and made an immeasurable contribution to the victory in Europe. The bean counters in DC invented a false premise for measuring success in war in Nam, the body count, because by every other measure, the politicians lost the war.

It is indeed my friend, and it might surprise many people to know that both Burt Lancaster and John Wayne, as well as some other major stars turned down the role of Patton....just as well I'd say! George C. Scott was brilliant!
