Didn't Costner try very hard to have this film vaulted for good, when he heard it was finally being released to cash in on his 80s fame? That's the story I heard.

if your google Costner you'll see this movie was released in 1974 as posted, he was just sweet 19th years and this was his first role, the film is a low budget thing, hard to get but expect a special edition on dvd soon

It was filmed in 1974 I think, but it wasn't released until several years later after he became famous. I'm pretty sure it was his first film.
