Reparations are bullshit! Part 3

Slavery, the slaughter of Native Americans (and the confiscation of their tribal land) and the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II are three tragedies from this nation's past. However, are those who suffered as a result of these government policies, deserving of money - lots of money? They're called "reparations" and like the Indians and the Japanese before them, today many African Americans think the Federal Government (meaning Mr. And Mrs. Tax Payer) owes them money because their ancestors were once slaves. In this episode, BULLSHIT goes inside the reparations movements and uncovers the truths about the internment of Japanese Americans, Indian Casinos and the Federal Government's long history of correcting the historical wrongs associated with its institutional racism.

Anyone trying to cash in on the misery their ancestors went though could do nothing more to disrespect them. It seems the ultimate insult. It sure as hell isn't about racial pride. A proud man would recognize that he will never understand. And what's the reason for racial pride in the 1st place? You didn't accomplish a goddamn thing by being born black, white, red or yellow. The only thing in life that's pride worthy is action.

I must disagree with this assertion, it is hard to make a case for the fact that a conquered people be given any sort of reparation because of things done to their ancesters it would be like demanding the French pay reparations to the English for the Norman Invasion of 1066, the idea of reparations only has substance if given to the actual people who experienced the event

I don't owe something just because my great-great-grandfather's 22nd cousin, five times removed, broke the jaw of some guy who happened to have a different skin color.

In fact, it wouldn't matter if every single one of my ancestors was a racist, sadistic, brutal psychopathic fuck who got turned on by torturing people into insanity before murdering them.

One is only responsible for one's own actions. End of story!

120 recorded Japanese-Americans defected or supported the Empire of Japan's military during WWII.120,out of all those who were interned.Those loyalty tests were total bullshit,you'd know if you read them.Some left,many to avoid war in general.Defectors to the country weren't that plentiful.

Besides, if you wanna hold that standard,why weren't the Germans interned? A lot left to support Germany. In fact most saboteurs were Germans, who had killed people! But they were white, and white was right

@Elementer117 no it made sense because the issue with reparations is people leeching off the suffering of their supposed ancestors. The Japanese Americans had their land, businesses and property taken from them, and as they were still alive after WW2 ended they deserved to be compensated by the US government.

If you think you need reparations, you need to stop thinking of yourself as a victim, and take control of your life like an adult.
