Eggsplosive New Dizzy Video!

Today we are eggcitedly unveiling a brand new video featuring Dizzy, the iconic videogame character resurreggted from the 8 bit-era for the 21st century.

The new video shows the classic cartoon eggventurer exploring the magical kingdom of Keldor. Our hard boiled hero is shown in eggsplosive action as he helps lions, eggs-changes items with the Grim Reaper and, crucially, scares Rockwart the Troll. Using his trademark jumps and tumbles, Dizzy displays eggstraordinary agility as he vaults his way through tree tops, crosses the river Styx and rides platforms through a castle. To help him on his scramble to save the Yolkfolk and rescue his girlfriend Daisy, Dizzy can collect and use items -- from matches to axes and buckets of water. It's all in a day's work for the fry-hard hero.

Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk, a special eggdition of the 1991 eggventure, will launch on "Egg-mergence Day" -- Friday 9th December -- for iPad (£2.49), iPhone (£1.49) and Android devices (£1.49), offering eggceptional value. The new edition of the game will not, unfortunately, be available for Laystation.

  • That looks awful.

  • Huge letdown. I'd rather play the original.

  • The game loks really nice on my Xperia Play but it need some major update. Bugs bugs and more bugs...

  • Well.. I better like original ZX-Spectrum version. But I like that Dizzy is still alive!

  • i remember this game...

  • Bring back original pixel graphic, fck HD!

  • ewww.... who made this game. it suxx

  • Sadly, this looks to be a rather unsympathetic remake. Although the graphics are nice, the scrolling is unnecessary and the music appears to have none of the atmospheric quality of the original. There was something a little bit spooky and urgent about the original music. Maybe it was just the nature of 8-bit bleeps, but I'm sure a remix of the original music would have been better than the screechy synthesizer sounds demonstrated in this video. Such a shame.

  • Works really well on the Xperia play. My only complaint, no sound FX, just music, and bad music at that. Sort it out Codies.

  • I suppose that Zaks is after the creation of this game. Only he could make this to Dizzy. This is difinetly the real Dizzy nightmare.

  • @Miitanuk yep i found that out first hand this morning when i downloaded it for my iphone :(

  • @superrobz Worse news: it's 'not compatible' with half the android phones on the market. Enable purchases from the Galaxy S please. :(
